HazMat Team

HazMat membersDue to the danger and technical complexities of incidents involving hazardous materials, terrorism and weapons of mass destruction, the Department has formed an elite team of specially trained technicians to respond to these unique emergencies.

Nine Oakland County fire departments, including Waterford, have formed a coalition to pool their equipment, manpower and resources to respond to these types of incidents.  It is called the Oakway Mutual Aid Pact.

In alliance with the Oakway Pact, team members can be called upon at any time, day or night, on or off duty, to respond to a hazardous materials incident within Waterford or any other community within Oakway.
