Technical Rescue Unit
The technical rescue unit was formed to facilitate the rescue, removal and treatment of victims that are not readily accessible by conventional methods. In today's urban and suburban environment with all its tall buildings, large open assembly areas and deep underground facilities it has become necessary to approach rescue operations from an alternate perspective.
The members of the Waterford Fire Department Technical Rescue Unit train relentlessly and are certified in the highest levels of high-angle, rope and trench rescue.
