Fire Relief Fund

Fire damaged homeWhen an emergency strikes and the routine of daily life has been drastically interrupted, the professional fire fighters of Waterford Township are sympathetic:  They know the grief and anguish of those who suffer pain and tragedy.  Knowing how victims suffer after an emergency, our organization has established the Fire Relief Fund.

HOW IT WORKS
The Fire Relief Fund Committee consists of Waterford fire fighters who work together with the Comfort Inn of Waterford in providing short-term shelter for fire victims.  The fund also provides money to victims in the form of gift certificates from Meijers to be used for food, clothing or any other special items needed at that time. Marco's Pizza also donates gift cards to families after fires.

At the time of the fire, the Committee determines the needs of the victims, coordinates hotel accommodations and distributes the gift certificates if deemed necessary.

HOW IT'S FUNDED
The Fire Relief Fund committee members do not solicit or expect any payment or reimbursement from persons, families or insurance companies involved in an emergency.   We want nothing more than to help the community and we ask nothing in return.   The Fire Relief Fund exists thanks to donations by individuals, businesses, organizations and by authorized fund raising events.

Losing everything you have as the result of fire is traumatic enough.  Following a fire, our goal is to help the recovery process go a little easier.

The Fire Relief Fund has helped hundreds of families and has disbursed tens of thousands of dollars in the process.
