Walk of Friends Project

The Waterford Police Benevolent Fund is a non-profit organization which was originally established in 1991 to assist Officer Mark Knapp, who was stricken with cancer. Since then, the role of the fund has been expanded. Today, the fund supports Waterford Police employees and their families in times of personal crisis. Over the years, through generous community support, the fund has grown and assisted several members in their times of need. Even though the fund's primary role is the support of Waterford Police employees, other worthwhile local and national charities have benefited from the fund in times of crisis.

Your support of the Walk of Friends will help to continue this tradition.

For your tax-deductible* contribution or donation, you will receive an engraved brick, inlayed into the walkway nearby our memorial to the spirit of our police officers and the citizens of Waterford. This provides a lasting way to memorialize a loved one, or is a nice way to show your business' support of your community. The memorial is publicly displayed in front of our new headquarters.

Ordering Information

This is an on-going project. Brick orders will be accepted throughout each year the project continues. However, all brick orders placed before February 1st will be inlayed and publicly presented each May during National Police Memorial Week. Due to the manufacturing time for each brick, orders placed after the February 1st cutoff date cannot be unveiled until the following year. Future plans may include the expansion of the brick walkway as the sections fill.

Two colors of bricks are available. The brown are available for a $500.00 contribution. These are limited in number and are placed closest to the statue base. The red bricks are available for a $250.00 donation and will be placed further from the statue.
