Property Taxes
Property taxes fund local schools, (Waterford Community Schools, School District of the City of Pontiac, or Clarkston Community Schools), Oakland Community College, Oakland Schools, the Township and County. Taxes collected for the Township help fund for police and fire services, library services and the operation of the Township.
Two tax bills are mailed each year, Summer and Winter. The Summer bill, mailed July 1, includes School and County taxes. The Winter bill, mailed December 1, includes Township; Oakland County Parks and Recreation; Huron-Clinton Metropolitan Authority; and Zoological Authority taxes; Oakland County Drains; and Local Lake Improvement Board Assessments.
