Choosing a Waste Hauler

Each household or business is responsible for contracting services as required by Ordinance.  The Township does not have a sanitation department, nor do we utilize tax money to pay for this service.  All programs are run by private companies that are not endorsed or controlled by Waterford Township.

Below are waste haulers accepting new customers in Waterford Township as of June 10, 2019:

Curbside Recycling

Most waste haulers have a recycling component as part of their service. Contact your waste hauler for items collected, how to prepare them and collection schedules.

Compost

Most waste haulers offer seasonal composting as part of their service.  Contact your waste hauler for more information.
In addition, Bedrock Express, does offer a drop off service for yard waste.  Contact them for more information.

Township Recycling

On the 1st Saturday of each month, a container is located in front of Township Hall for the collection of corrugated cardboard, magazines, and paper board (e.g. cereal boxes, toothpaste boxes, generally most food and personal product packaging. Must be free of food debris and dry.) Collection is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.. If an official holiday falls on the 1st Saturday of the month, collection will not occur and will resume according to the established schedule. Residents only. No commercial haulers allowed.

Document Shredding

Absolute Shreds and the Oakland County Sheriff's Office offer document shredding options.  In addition, the Waterford Township Treasurer sponsors periodic events at Township Hall for Waterford residents.
